The Association of European Businesses Discusses the Draft Law on Charity
08.08.2014
The Association of European Businesses joined the discussion of the draft law on charity. On August 7, Maryna Dymovich, the head of legal with the Association, took part in a working meeting to discuss the draft Concept of the Law On Public Benefiting Activities, which is being prepared by International Educational Public Association Act.
The concept envisages drafting a regulatory act, which would cover internal charity donations, philanthropy, sponsorship and volunteering. The authors of the project say that the new law will replace all disparate acts in the area of charities existing at the moment and address such controversial issues as taxation and state support for the charity.
The participants of the working meeting discussed the conceptual approaches to the draft, including the scope of regulation and application of the law, the differences between the concepts "public benefiting activities" and "charity," and went into the process of acquiring the status of a public benefiting organization.
The European Business Association invites its members and partners to join the discussion of the draft Concept of the Law On Public Benefiting Activities. You can participate in working meetings together with representatives of the Association, as well as provide us with suggestions to the Concept at CSR committee, which will be held on September 9 in the office of the Association at Kozlova lane 7, office 535.
