We publish a feedback of the Belarusian National Technical University student Vadim Zaranko about participation in the AEB initiative Job Shadow Days. If you want to make people talking about your company the same way – then become a mentor in our spring Corporate Social Responsibility initiative the Job Shadow Days!
"I spent the whole day in the ABB, the world famous company. I was met in the office by the the Head, and got acquainted with my mentor Andrew Berestou. Then I was briefed on the the company activities and what I have to do.
It all starts with mail checking, then Andrew introduced me to the company's personnel. Each of them is really a professional in the field of energy. There are 4 divisions in the company and each of them has shown a presentation of innovative solutions, cutting-edge equipment.
As time was going for a lunch. Andrew and I were given the task to go on a business trip. After dinner, we went to another city. The task was to present a new cupboard.
We have compiled it with the design engineers of the partner company and showed its benefits. My mentor asked the representatives of the company to show me the workshop and engineering department and they gladly agreed. And they talked with passion about what they do. Having had a bite we were coming back to the office. Along the way, a lot of valuable information was obtained by me. In the office, some gifts were waiting for me :) Mug gifts, flash drive, a great day planner, some directories. A cup, USB flash drive, a great day planner, some directories.
Thanks to this project, in just one day, I received invaluable experience. I realized I still have the skills needed to work productively in the future and become a great expert in the field of electricity.
I want to thank the Association of European Business for such an interesting project. Due to such actions, which will certainly develop young professionals who can evaluate their knowledge and skills in a real working environment. Thanks also to the large company ABB, which devoted me the whole day, each specialist was happy to help me.
And finally, I want to thank the person who was there the whole day, gave me advice, showed what is right and what is not - this is my mentor Andrew Berestou. The day was productive, full of of bright emotions.
I wish every student to participate in the #JobShadowDays. It's really amazing. "
