Public Discussion of the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection

The draft law amends Law of the Republic of Belarus No. 99-Z of May 7, 2021, "On the Protection of Personal Data" (Law No. 99-Z), as well as other laws of the Republic of Belarus, in accordance with the requirements of Law No. 99-Z.

The proposed amendments to Law No. 99-Z are aimed at:

• reducing the administrative burden on organizations when processing personal data;
• enhancing the protection of citizens' personal data when processed using modern technologies (video surveillance, audio recording, automated processing of personal data);
• consolidating the established practice of applying certain provisions of Law No. 99-Z.
