Round table "Current issues of collection and recycling of plastic packaging waste in the Republic of Belarus"

The UN Global Compact Network in Belarus, the Association of European Business, in partnership with the NGO Ecopartnership on the basis of the Alivaria Brewing Company OJSC organized a round table "Current issues of collection and recycling of plastic packaging waste in the Republic of Belarus".

The participants of the round table were representatives of government agencies and organizations (the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities, the State Institution Operator of Secondary Material Resources), companies representing the spheres of food and beverage production (Alivaria, Coca-Cola), consumer goods (MedLen), retail (Santa Retail), waste recycling (Remondis), plastic container production (Replas-M) and experts in these areas.

The participants of the round table discussed the issues of implementation in the Republic of Belarus of the extended producer responsibility (EPR) model, the deposit-collateral system of container collection, issues of separate waste collection, accounting of secondary material resources and much more.
